The 3rd edition of the EU Food Safety Forum successfully concluded yesterday at the headquarters of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Rome, gathering leading experts, researchers, and industry representatives from across Europe to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in food safety.
ENCO was proud to participate in this high-level event presenting the SEEDS Project, which we coordinate. The Forum provided an excellent platform to present SEEDS’ approach to strengthening the value and supply chains of ancient grains in the MENA region, highlighting how scientific research, stakeholder collaboration, and innovative solutions can contribute to more resilient and sustainable food systems.
For ENCO, this participation is particularly meaningful as active members of the EU Food Safety Platform, an initiative developed within the framework of the FOODSAFETY4EU project. Being part of this Forum allowed us to engage directly with a multi-stakeholder European community, share insights from our projects, and reinforce our commitment to supporting a food system that is safe, sustainable, and inclusive.
The event also featured the Young Researchers & Innovators Session, showcasing pitches from early-career researchers selected through an open call. These sessions highlighted the emerging talent and innovative ideas shaping the future of Europe’s food safety landscape, aligning perfectly with ENCO’s vision of fostering knowledge exchange and research-driven solutions.
Participation in the Forum confirms ENCO’s commitment to actively contributing to European initiatives that strengthen food safety, promote collaboration across sectors, and drive sustainable innovation. Engaging in these discussions is not only an opportunity to share expertise but also to learn from other actors, ensuring that our projects continue to align with the highest European standards and priorities.
