“Open farms”. Conference “Schools as ambassadors of the Mediterranean Diet”

The project SWITCHtoHEALTHY will be presented at the Conference “Schools as ambassadors of the Mediterranean Diet”, organized by Regione Campania in the framework of the initiative “Open farms”.

The focus of the meeting will be the healthy and sustainable Mediterranean food model, to be disseminated in particular among the younger generations, with suitable tools and targeted food education actions. During the conference – which will be attended by local institutions, agronomists, doctors, students and teachers of Campania schools – the link between nutrition and health will be investigated, and the richness of Campania’s agri-food heritage will be illustrated. The objectives and tools offered by the SWITCHtoHEALTHY project to facilitate the transition to the Mediterranean food model will be introduced by Simona Mincione, our project coordinator, with the presentation “App, videogame, and healhty snacks: the tools offered by the SWITCHtoHEALTHY to promote the transition towards the Mediterranean food model”.

Speakers: Nicola Caputo, Councilor for Agriculture of Campania Region; Antonio Limone, director of the IZSM Campania and Calabria; Maria Passari, director general of the DG Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies of Campania Region; Flora Della Valle, UOD manager Valorization, Protection and Traceability of the Agricultural Products; Mauro Minelli, immunologist and professor of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at LUM Bari University; Angela Mormone, principal of the School Sannino De Cillis in Naples; Simona Mincione, coordinator of the international project “SWITCHtoHEALTHY” (ENCO SRL).
