WATERGY
It is widespread knowledge that the current state of water resources is highly worrying, if not dramatic, not only in developing countries but also within industrialized nations: at present, water can be truly regarded as the “blue gold” of the third millennium. Nowadays, no country in the world is immune to the risk of an abnormal increase in the water stress
level. As a consequence, water preservation and related energy consumption issues have become cutting-edge research topics aimed at a sustainable exploitation of resources.
The WATERGY Project deals with the above mentioned issues by means of a novel multi-objective approach aimed at a management and operational enhancement and at the energy efficiency improvement of the infrastructures belonging to the IWS (Integrated Water Service). WATERGY’s main goal is to increase the energy efficiency and self-handling capability of the infrastructures involved in the IWS, with a consequent reduction of the related energy costs.
